DANIEL LESTER TASSARA, of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 2, 1944, he was the son of the late John Tassara and the late Kathleen Harrison Tassara.

A true son of New Orleans, Danny carried the spirit of the Crescent City with him wherever he went. From the rhythm of the streets to the roar of the Superdome, New Orleans remained a part of his soul. He cherished its rich culture, its food, its music, and its people-and even after moving to Alabama, his heart never left home.

Danny accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized on March 8, 1959, at Pontchartrain Baptist Church in New Orleans by Rev. Charles Mack Hutson. In his early years, he owned Tassara Construction Company in the city he loved, contributing to its growth with pride and dedication.

Later in life, after settling in Alabama, he became a beloved manager at Domino's Pizza in Pelham, where he worked faithfully for nearly 30 years. Known for his strong work ethic and warm nature, Danny made lasting friendships and left a legacy of kindness and dependability.

A passionate New Orleans Saints fan, he cheered on his team through every season and spent countless hours listening to Atlanta Braves baseball on the radio. He was also a loyal follower of college football. Danny loved old westerns, peaceful fishing trips, and had a special fondness for animals, especially cats. He was a gentle, kind-hearted man, whose quiet strength and love for family shaped those closest to him. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his granddaughter, sharing stories and talking about horses.

Danny will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Danaca Tassara Momber of Grand Rapids, MI, and Gina Tassara (Jonathan) Eidson of Alabaster; grandson, William Eidson of Alabaster; granddaughter, Aspen Eidson of Alabaster; sisters, Debbie Berget of Tickfaw, LA, and Kathy Sellars of Reserve, LA; brothers, Michael Tassara of LaPlace, LA, and Johnny Tassara of Kenner, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kathleen Tassara, and his sister, Peggy Watson.
